We’re also very proud of our historic sites, arts & culture and museums. Coshocton began as the capital of the Delaware Indians and early Moravian missions. We’re also known as the birthplace of specialty advertising, once home to an artists’ colony only second in size to New York City.
Our nationally-accredited Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is home to collections of national significance, which include Indian basketry and bead work and Chinese lacquer ware. Historic Roscoe Village is a living history museum with costumed interpreters who lead you on tours of this lovingly-restored canal town. We take our wines seriously. Coshocton boasts not just one, but three wineries. Enjoy award-winning wine and the finest in casual dining at Raven’s Glenn Winery. Also visit Rainbow Hills Vineyard and their new bed & breakfast located in the hills where nature abounds. Shawnee Springs offers peaceful country scenery and sweet wines made from their own vineyards.
We also know that shopping and dining are high on your priority list. Our historic Towne Centre reminds many of the way Main Street looked in their youth. The Shops of Roscoe Village offer a wide range of hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind items.
