For over 40 years, hot air balloons have been floating over the hills and valleys of Coshocton County. Food vendors, kiddie rides, craft booths, musical entertainment, children’s activities, fireworks, night glow, and hot air balloon launches (weather permitting) are all part of this FREE event thanks to our many generous sponsors and friends. The festival is organized by an all-volunteer committee.
Check our Facebook Page for current announcements about launches and special events. VisitCoshocton.com is the official source for lodging, the Three Rivers Wine Trail, shopping, recreation, and more.

Below is a list of our most asked questions. If you have a question that is not answered here, please send an email to coshoctonhotairballoonfestival@gmail.com.
The festival (food, entertainment, vendors) will continue throughout the weekend. However, balloons will not fly if the weather is unsafe for the pilots. Safety is evaluated beginning one hour to the scheduled launch times. Please do not call or message asking if the ballons will launch. Watch the Facebook page for updates.
Night Glow and Fireworks are also weather dependent, so rain and storms will delay or cancel these events.
Admission and parking are FREE!
Enter the fairgrounds through the gate at Kenilworth and 7th Streets. You will be directed to parking. Parking is free. Handicap parking is available through the same gate.
Not in general parking; if arriving early enough, you may acquire parking at the county buildings lot.
Tethered rides, t-shirts, and golf balls for the drop are CASH ONLY.
Individual vendors of food or items may accept credit cards at their discretion.
It is safest to fly when the possibility of calm winds is greatest. This occurs in the early morning and early evening.
Even though the weather may look good to us on the ground, the wind speeds at 200 meters and higher can be very different. Balloons have no way to steer or slow down, they can only ascend or descend. The safety of our pilots always comes first. We never want to disappoint our guests, but sometimes have to make the decision to keep the balloons on the ground.
Yes, live music will be Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. in the Grandstand.
The balloons are inflated on the field and burners are fired, causing the balloons to glow. It is beautiful and is a great photo opportunity. The balloons do not ascend, as it would be dangerous to fly in the dark. If weather is inclement, this event will be cancelled.
