UNIQUE EXPERIENCE to stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Historic Roscoe Village! The 1860’s canal era building has a long history, originally constructed as a hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the main floor was a pharmacy and dry goods store. You will now find a full kitchen with dining area, full bathroom, living room, and two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed, the other with a full sized bed. The apartment has Direct TV as well as high speed internet. This charming 2nd floor apartment is located in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, just steps away from shopping, dining and two wonderful bars. This apartment has an adjoining door that connects to another Airbnb. This door is always locked from both sides, however, it can be accessible if both parties are traveling together. The other Airbnb unit is called “Pearl’s Place in the Hearth of Historic Roscoe Village”. It is a one bedroom apartment with a king sized bed, living room with couch, full bathroom, kitchen and dining area. If interested, simply book both units for the same dates. There is Coin Operated Laundry available for guests, located on the 2nd floor of the building. Please feel free to use the laundry facility if you need. Roscoe Village is a very walkable area – once you’ve parked, you do not need a vehicle to explore the whole village. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot behind the building for our Airbnb and apartment guests. The host will send you an aerial photo of the building and parking lot for reference once you’ve booked. We use a key lockbox to offer a flexible self check-in process. South Second Street (5 minutes) is where you will find fast food, pizza, discount stores and gas stations. EV chargers are located across from COTC on N. Whitewoman St. in Roscoe Village. You are within walking distance of all of Roscoe Village. There are several area taxi services available if you wish to travel outside Roscoe Village and prefer not to drive. You are staying in the restored Roscoe Hotel (circa 1856). The building was built by Arnold Medbery and it replaced Medbery’s earlier, wood framed hotel (built 1832) that burned. This building was also a stagecoach stop and was believed to have been on the Underground Railroad. The building housed retail businesses on the main level, sleeping rooms on the second and third floors, and a ballroom on the top floor. The wood floors are from trees as far back as the 1600’s and the original plaster walls have some cracks from nearly 170 years that add charm and character to the rooms. There was no electricity or cars and Ohio was just over 40 years old when this building was populated by early European settlers moving west. Millard Fillmore was president and the American civil war was still years away. This is no ordinary airbnb apartment, we have added modern conveniences but tried to keep the historical integrity alive for your enjoyment. Make sure to visit the Coshocton Visitors Bureau located across the street from the apartment (at 432 N Whitewoman St) to get tons of local recommendations!
